American Idol winner Caleb Johnson to release new music video

Johnson has offered his fans a 30 second teaser clip of his “Fighting Gravity” music video. It is slated to premiere on March 24 exclusively on Yahoo Music. It was based on a real-life experience, and it was subsequently conceptualized by Johnson, as well as his director, Mark Staubach, who was responsible for working with such noteworthy musical acts as American Authors and Travie McCoy.

“The video was inspired by a personal experience I had this past year while visiting a family whose son had a rare but terminal form of pediatric cancer,” Johnson remarked in a press release.

His goal was to create an emotional connection and raise awareness of a disease that affects so many families. “I hope people will be inspired to lend support to people they know that are going through similar experiences,” Johnson added in the press statement.

Johnson co-penned “Fighting Gravity” with such songwriters as Brian Howes and Lenny Skolnik. It is found on his Testify album. It includes nine tracks which were produced by Howard Benson, who has worked with Bon Jovi, My Chemical Romance and Gavin DeGraw.

He will be performing “Fighting Gravity” at the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C. on April 11, as well as on May 2 at Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, North Carolina. Johnson is preparing to tour through the Southeast throughout May.
