It is official. The sales totals are already in for the first week of Adele's album "25," and she has set a new record that will be difficult to top.
According to an article in Billboard Magazine, the British songstress sold 3.38 million units of 25, marking it the first album to ever sell more than three million copies, as tabulated by Nielsen Music.
25 is also the 20th album in history to sell over one million copies, according to Hollywood Reporter, and the sole album to sell over one million copies in 2015. The last album that sold 1.28 million copies was Taylor Swift's 1989 back in 2014.
At the same time, Adele has the fastest-selling album in Canada, New Zealand as well as the United Kingdom.
Her "Hello" music video has amassed over half a billion views on her YouTube channel, and on the iTunes charts, the song reached No. 1 in over 85 countries.
