Adele impersonator Lisa Martin talks carpool parody video (Includes interview)

On the idea for her carpool video, she said, “Carpool was my manager’s idea. Oliver McClellan from Demand-ing Management. He put it to me and Gee, who is actually my husband. We were totally up for it, neither of us are comedians but we are both up for a laugh (just as Adele would be) we knew it was import to act fast, to get the best effect, so we just went out and recorded with a smartphone.”

Martin’s video has received major praise from various well-known outlets, including Digital Journal, among many others. “It is totally overwhelming. We never imagined for a single minute that we would get so much publicity over it. A couple of radio stations that I have been listening to for years, here in the U.K. have given us fantastic reviews. It is very humbling,” she said. “Also, when I heard, through my management team, that Perez Hilton has reviewed, I instantly thought ‘oh no!” as I know how cut throat he can be. He was surprisingly kind.”

Regarding her plans for the future, she said, “I have lots in the pipeline. I am not a greedy person but to get my passion and talent out to a greater audience would be amazing. My management team are fantastic, and are looking at the best options for me.”

When asked about her new year’s resolutions for 2016, Martin said, “Resolutions are there to be broken. Aren’t they! I am just looking forward to this year, I think it will definitely be my year.”
