A cappella group Pentatonix wins first Grammy award

They won in the “Best Arrangement, Instrumental, A Cappella” Grammy category for their “Daft Punk” medley. The award went to the arrangers which included Ben Bram, Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Avi Kaplan, Kirstin Maldonado and Kevin Olusola, from Pentatonix, who are signed to RCA Records.

Pentatonix bested such nominated songs as “Beautiful Dreamer,” “Get Smart,” “Guantanamera” and “Moon River.”

Their holiday album, That’s Christmas To Me, became their second Top 10 album.

“This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to us,” they said in their moving acceptance speech. Pentatonix gave a shout-out to their record label, as well as their esteemed publicist, Ken Phillips, who was with them from the very start. “We love you guys. This is so surreal. Thank you,” they concluded.
