article imageInterview: Jeff Timmons pays homage to Christina Grimmie Special

By Markos Papadatos     Jun 21, 2016 in Music
Jamaica - Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees sat down and chatted at Resorts World Casino in Jamaica, New York, and he pays homage to the ever-talented Christina Grimmie, an alumna from "The Voice."
Grimmie passed away in a tragic incident on June 10 in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 22.
Timmons remarked, "The circumstances are unfortunate. Strangely enough, throughout my tenure in the business, you never really expect it. You are going through this dream, you are plugging away, there are people breathing down your neck, and all you are thinking about is working and then putting your best foot forward as a performer, so the last thing you would expect is to be assassinated or assaulted or taken out in your element, while you are putting the intention and emphasis on creativity and hopefully, influencing someone in a positive way. When something like this happens, it is tragic in a number of different ways. A person dying as a result of something like this is obviously the most tragic thing, and the element which our society resides in right now is sort of disappointing, and there's a certain uncertainty that is out there, and it is hard to balance. Ultimately, you have to find your own faith within yourself and then you just have to go with the flow, and hopefully everything will turn out all right."
For his dedicated fans, Timmons concluded, "Thanks, as always. Thank you for letting me do this for a living. I hang out, have fun, party, perform, create, be a dad and I'm able to do it all because of the fans."
