The first trailer was streamed for "Overkill's The Walking Dead," connected to Robert Kirkman's original graphic novel, set for release in 2016.
There was love for The Walking Dead as interesting revelations came to light when it came to the ongoing graphic novel. Overkill Software has streamed the first trailer for its cooperative shooter title Overkill's The Walking Dead, which is scheduled for a 2016 release on next-generation consoles.
Like Telltale's The Walking Dead, Overkill's The Walking Dead is connected to the comic universe and not AMC's The Walking Dead.
If you have kept up with the comics, then you should know that Rick and what's left of his original party have settled in Northern Virginia.
Rick has been selected as the leader of the Alexandria Safe Zone, Maggie has taken the role as leader of the Hilltop Community, and Michonne has taken up residence in The Kingdom. Andrea entered a relationship with Rick and stays with him while Carl moved to the Hilltop Community and lived under Maggie & Sophia's roof.
After they moved back to Hershel's Farm, the group encountered three people.
Eugene, one of the three, claimed to be a scientist with intimate knowledge of the outbreak and convinced the party to head toward Washington DC. In reality, Eugene was talking bulls—t and had no knowledge.
The guy wasn't a scientist, but a high school chemistry teacher.
Washington, DC was shown to be infested with zombies, which made scavenging a dangerous job. It cost Scott his life, where Glenn stepped up and offered to assist Heath.
Overkill's The Walking Dead takes place at the same time as the first episode of Telltale's The Walking Dead S1, but the former is set in Washington DC during the beginning of the outbreak. Players can participate in the events that led to the District of Columbia becoming a dead zone.
In related news, Telltale is continuing S2.
But it will be a three-episode mini-game that's not connected to Clementine's story. This story will actually focus on Michonne's story between the end of “All-Out War” and The Walking Dead #139: From The Edge of the World, where she returned from a boating expedition along the eastern coastline.
Telltale's The Walking Dead: Michonne is supposed to come out this year.
