Video: ‘JJBA — Eyes of Heaven’ videos show Stroheim & Diego

Bandai Namco has streamed a couple of game play demonstration videos for the upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven, for which a playable demo has been released in Japan. The game is something of a sequel to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, but uses a different game play system.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven is similar to third-person battle royal games like Unreal Tournament and Rise of Incarnate.

The first video introduces Rudolf von Stroheim and Diego Brando, respectively from “Part II: Battle Tendency” and “Part VII: Steel Ball Run.”

Stroheim is introduced as a Nazi officer that has a noble streak, but firmly believes in the superiority of the Aryan race. Joseph Joestar and Caesar Zapelli cross paths with Stroheim when they must join forces to defeat Santana, the first of the Pillar Men.

Santana managed to possess Stroheim’s body to avoid getting killed by the sunlight, but the latter sacrifices himself and allows Joseph to kill the former. It was believed that Stroheim was dead, but was revealed to be resurrected as a cyborg near the final battle.

Stroheim was present in the final battle between Joseph and Cars, the leader of the Pillar Men and the creator of the vampiric Stone Mask. He died near the end of World War II in Russia during the Nazi invasion of Stalingrad.

Part II: Battle Tendency” is the final part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to not feature the use of Stands.

Diego Brando is an alternate timeline version of “Part I: Phantom Blood” and “Part III: Stardust Crusaders” antagonist Dio Brando.

He serves as the personal antagonist to Gyro Zapelli and Johnny Joestar during the titular “Steel Ball Run” race.

The second video shows the young version of Joseph Joestar in action as he utilizes his classic moves like the hammer and Tommy Gun. It also introduces Josuke Higashikata, the hero of “Part IV: Diamond Is Unbreakable” and the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar.

Josuke is charged with stopping a serial killer that possesses the Bow and Arrow that bestows Stand powers.

The third video shows more of the game play demonstration.

It will be available on the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 consoles in the near future. There is no news on when the game will be available in North America.

The first part of the manga specifically focused on vampires and the second part focused on the Pillar Men. Part III and future parts focused on the use of Stand abilities. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is ongoing and is currently on “Part VIII: Jojolion.”
