Video: ‘Dying Light’ launch trailer

Dying Light, developed by Techland and published by WB Games, launches tomorrow on February 27th. If you are a fan of the Dead Island series, you should know that Techland developed Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide.

The official launch trailer for Dying Light has been streamed for viewing, which gives a gist of the game’s story and focuses on the game play. If you have been keeping track of the recent news and demonstrations, it is obvious that Parkour is heavily used.

It is the first time that Parkour is being used in an official zombie project let alone in a zombie game.

Players assume the role of secret agent Kyle Crane, who is given a mission to infiltrate the quarantine zone of Harran, Turkey. You are instructed to find the cause of the outbreak, but that will not be easy because of the zombies wanting to eat you and the hostile humans wanting to know your secret agenda.

Think of Dying Light as being an urban version of Dead Island, but you can use Parkour to get around the city.

This opens up possibilities of traveling around and using creative ways to kill zombies.

The game will be available on the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One consoles.

A recent trailer revealed that David Belle played a fundamental role in the game’s use of Parkour as he and a team of traceurs performed the motion capturing.

For any of you who do not know who Belle is, he is the founder and pioneer of Parkour. He displayed his skills in Luc Besson’s District B13. Hollywood remade the movie into Brick Mansions, where Belle starred alongside RZA and the late-Paul Walker.

Dying Light should hold you over for the time being before Dead Island 2 comes out, which will be in April.
