Sony surprises at E3 2015

The first major reveal by Sony at this year’s E3 was the gameplay demo of The Last Guardian which was first teased six years ago. Very little has been heard about the game since. Many people, including myself, had given up on ever seeing it again. However, it made its appearance this year and even announced that it will be released sometime in 2016.

Then, Sony dropped a bomb. Final Fantasy VII will be remade for the current generation of consoles and will be released first on the PS4. Fans of the game have been begging for this for years. Now it looks like we will finally get our HD remake of one of the most loved role-playing games in the world. This isn’t just a re-release or a polished version of FFVII, this is a fully remade game with completely new graphics from the ground up. This game was one of the first games the average gamer played and has a huge amount of nostalgic value to the community and will be a huge success when it launches.

Lastly, another game that people have been wanting for a while Shenmue III was announced. Well, kind of. The game’s creator, Yu Suzuki, was invited on stage to announce the Kickstarter campaign to create the game. The campaign reached it’s $2 million goal in under 12 hours. Clearly fans were excited about the reveal. Kickstarter was flooded so fast with eager donors that it actually caused the website to crash for several minutes.

None of these games have a definite release date.
