If any of you have purchased The Evil Within when it came out, then look forward to the upcoming story-driven DLC known as “The Assignment,” which releases in North America on March 10th and Europe on March 11.
Bethesda Softworks streamed a brief trailer for “The Assignment” that puts players in the shoes of Detective Julie Kidman, voiced by Jennifer Carpenter (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Battle in Seattle, Quarantine, Faster, The Devil’s Hand, Quarantine, and Dexter), the mysterious new partner of protagonist Detective Sebastian Castellanos.
Kidman is revealed to be working with Mobius and that her mission involves retrieving Leslie.
Leslie is the mental patient that Sebastian “befriends” through the game’s story as they try to solve the mystery of their dire circumstances.
You can buy this DLC for $10 when it comes out, but is automatically available if players purchased the season pass for $20.
Unless you like playing stealth games, The Assignment will be difficult because it focuses on stealth than combat. That also gives the implication that Kidman will have less health than Sebastian and that will me she will die easily.
It is important that you avoid combat wherever and whenever you can because ammo and resources are limited.
“Consequence,” the second part of the Kidman-themed DLC, will be available at a later date.
The Evil Within is directed by Shinji Mikami, the father of survival horror and the creator of Capcom’s Resident Evil series. His company, Tango Gameworks, served as the game’s developer and Bethesda Softworks served as the game’s publisher.
This game is Mikami’s return to survival horror.
Sebastian, Kidman, and Detective Joe Oda are the only survivors of a massacre at Beacon Mental Hospital. They wake and find that a supernatural force has decimated Krimson City. It is up to them to find the answers that lie with Ruvik.
