According to a report by the consumer market research firm, NDP Group, the PlayStation 4 outsold the Xbox One during the month of March.
Based on its findings; the PlayStation 4 has dominated console sales for the third month while having outsold the Xbox One. The report comes a week after Sony announced that the PS4 had sold over 7 million units.
Sid Shuman, Social Media Director for Sony, stated, “On behalf of the entire global team at PlayStation, I want to thank you for your unprecedented support and for making PS4 your next-generation console of choice.”
It was only last month that Sony stated that they are struggling to meet the global demand for the PlayStation 4. Due to high volume of sales, it won't be until the summer that they have caught up with the demand.
Despite the success of the PlayStation 4, the same report also stated that Titanfall outsold inFamous: Second Son back in March. The report credits the game's early release and massive hype among gamers giving an edge over the competition.
However; inFamous: Second Son was the second-best selling game of March followed by South Park: The Stick of Truth and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
