Kojima
explaining how the concept of open-world gameplay in
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be nothing like the kind
experienced in
Grand Theft Auto V . He further stated,
"What Rockstar has created and the world they have created is super impressive, and actually when I saw the PS4 version a few days ago I got depressed again."
This has not been the first time that Kojima has expressed how he holds
Grand Theft Auto V in high regards. Back in 2013; he
stated that he was so impressed by
Grand Theft Auto V that he felt
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain would not as good by comparison.
During another interview back in 2013, he shared the same opinion while also expressing the same kind of
outlook towards Tom Clancy's The Division.
Given Kojima's accomplishments and legacy in the gaming world, many in the industry consider his complements a
great honor.
Grand Theft Auto V was released on September 17 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 while the Next-Gen versions are set to be released in the Fall of 2014. The game has been highly praised by critics as one of the greatest games developed while having generated over $1 billion in three days.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be the tenth game in the series and will continue the story after the events of
Ground Zeroes. The game will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 but no official release date has been announced.
