GameFly claims 'Agent' has been cancelled

By Stan Rezaee     Aug 24, 2014 in Entertainment
Based on an email sent by Gamefly to its users, Rockstar Games has cancelled 'Agent', the highly anticipated espionage themed game.
According to a NeoGAF member, GameFly users who had Agent in their GameQ received an email over the weekend that stated, We have removed Agent (PS3) from your GameQ. There are two possible reasons for this removal: 1. For released titles, we no longer carry the game and do not know if or when we will acquire new copies. 2. For unreleased titles, the game has been cancelled by its publisher. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed it but the game was absent from Gamescon 2014 and E3 2014. Agent has had a rocky history since its announcement in 2010 as little information has ever been released.
News of Agent being allegedly cancelled has shocked gamers as many are hoping for the rumors to be untrue.
However some in the game media have pointed out that this may not be the end. Giuseppe Nelva of Duel Shock notes that this could mean that the PS3 version has been scraped in favor of a PS4 release.
Agent is a stealth-action espionage thriller set during the Cold War, circa 1970, that will require the player to engage in acts of counter-intelligence and political assassinations.
