The first
official trailer has been unveiled and it features Kevin Spacey as the villainous head of a Private Military Company giving a speech to the audience about the flaws of democracy while championing a dictatorship. The game will be set in a future were PMC's have grown to have great influence around while one of them has turned against America.
Jordan Devore, Managing News Editor of
Destructoid, was the first to
break the story before other new sources picked it up. In no time; ads regarding the November 4 release of
Call of Duty: Advance Warfare started appear online.
The game has already created buzz among gamers and pundits in the media. Several gamers have refereed to Spacey's
involvement as making the game feel like "
House of COD."
When a short documentary was released on May 1, many in the game media were quick to speculate that the PMC's are going to be the villains. Others have also been quick to point-out the
similarities between the
Call of Duty: Advance Warfare premises with
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
This announcement has also killed all rumors regarding a new game in the
Modern Warfare-arc. This is due to Activision referring to
Modern Warfare,
Black Ops and
Ghosts as their flagship series during the conference call back in February.
Call of Duty: Advance Warfare will be the eleventh game in the popular series that has sold over 100 million copies and on average has 40 million active players a month.
