article imageBioShock to become available on iOS as 'premium priced' game

By Andrew Ellis     Aug 5, 2014 in Entertainment
The popular BioShock game is about be a lot easier play for Apple customers as it was announced recently that the first game in the popular franchise is set to makes its debut on iOS this summer.
CNET reports that the iOS version of the popular first-person shooter, which was originally released in 2007 and given a 9.5 out of 10 by Gamespot, will take place in the same underwater city of Rapture with the same storyline.
The game is going to be put out by publisher 2K Games. The game's developer, Irrational Games, revealed in February that was going to be closing its doors.
While some gamers may be excited for this news, critics like Macworld's Hayden Dingman wrote that while it's impressive that it's happening from a technical standpoint, "I'm just not convinced that's the type of mobile experience we should be lauding."
Engadget's Ben Gilbert shared Dingman's look on the popular games's new platform by writing that the iOS version simply doesn't do the game justice:
"BioShock is a great example of world-building in video games, and the iOS experience is a subpar representation. Simply put, between the lessened scale and the delivery medium, BioShock iOS is distinctly less immersive."
CNET reports that 2K Games is just one of the many publishers who have decided to try out the mobile market after video games sales have taken a recent hit.
While there has not been an exact mention of price, it will be "premium price" game that will be available on the iPad Air, iPad Mini 2, iPad 4, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, and iPhone 5.
