During a conference call regarding the second quarter of the finical year, Activision expects 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' to be the most ore-ordered game of the year.
Acitivsion CEO, Bobby Kotick, believes that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be the bestselling game of the year while Destiny will be one of the most successful new titles. While Call of Duty has been Activision's flagship series, many have anticipated that Destiny will become a dominate series for the Next-Gen consoles.
Cowen & Co. analyst, Doug Creutz, believes the game will be one of the best selling games of the year based on data collected from Amazon.
Several noted trends in the gaming community show support that Advanced Warfare could be one of the years best-selling games. Google reported back in late July that the game's reveal trailer was the most watched video on YouTube. Another factor has been EA delaying Battlefield: Hardline to 2015.
This announcement is based on Activison's own research and not Cowen & Co.'s annual report on the most pre-ordered game, which has not been released yet. Back in 2013, Cowen & Co. reported that Call of Duty: Ghosts was the most pre-ordered game year and the best selling on Next-Gen consoles.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be the eleventh game in the popular series that has sold over 100 million copies and on average has 40 million active players a month. The game will be released on November 4 for all consoles consoles and the PC.
