The first trailer has been streamed for the upcoming second season to the Netflix prison series called "Orange Is The New Black."
Netflix, which is coming up with original content for its subscription streaming service, has streamed the first trailer for the second season of “Orange Is The New Black” which stars Taylor Schilling. As the trailer shows, life in women's prison is going to get crazier. The trailer shows conflict of interest with one of the prison guards passionately making out with one of the female prisoners. If you have watched and enjoyed the first season, you can look forward to season two of Orange Is The New Black when it becomes available on Netflix streaming on June 6.
This one again reunites Schilling with veteran actress Kate Mulgrew (“Star Trek: Voyager” and “Warehouse 13”) as the two worked together on the NBC medical drama “Mercy." Schilling, who starred in Mercy, plays Veronica Flanagan-Callahan who's a nurse at a civilian hospital but has military experience. Mulgrew played Veronica's mother, Mrs. Jeannie Flanagan.
Orange Is The New Black is one of the several original series from Netflix. Other notable series are “Hemlock Grove” and “House of Cards” with the former about to enter its second season and the latter already having its second season.
Netflix also has another original series, which is also on the El Rey network, which is the adaptation to “From Dusk Till Dawn” which stars DJ Cortrona as Seth Gecko (portrayed by George Clooney in the first movie). Other notable actors in the series is Jake Busey (recently revealed to play Sex Machine), Robert Patrick (who was the star in “From Dusk Till Dawn 2”) who is playing the preacher, Wilmer Valderama (“That 70's Show”), and Don Johnson (“Nash Bridges” & “Miami Vice”). Canadian actor Zane Holtz plays Seth's brother, Richie Gecko.
In the series, Schilling plays Brooklyn yuppie Piper Chapman who has an “interesting past.” That past catches up with Piper as she has to serve a 15-month prison sentence for drug-related charges. In prison, she meets her ex-girlfriend Alex Vause (portrayed by Laura Prepon). Also in the series is Pablo Schreiber who reprises his role as “Pornstache.” Schreiber was recently seen in the season finale of this year's “Law and Order: SVU” as the personal antagonist to SVU Detective Olivia Benson.
