Video: ‘Mission Impossible Rogue Nation’ full trailer

The Mission: Impossible franchise shows everybody that it is still “alive and kicking” by releasing a fifth installment of the series. Tom Cruise reprises his role as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, scheduled to hit theaters on July 31st, which is connected to Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol.

YouTube’s official channel for the franchise has posted the first full-length trailer for Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation.

The United States Congress unanimously votes to dissolve the IMF, which the trailer shows. Things get dicey for Hunt and company when they learn that the syndicate, known as Rogue Nation, is actually real.

Rogue Nation serves as the antithesis to the IMF.

Think of Rogue Nation as H.Y.D.R.A, which is the antithesis to S.H.I.E.L.D. This story is reminiscent to H.Y.D.R.A’s infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Or imagine this revelation being similar to the collapse of Fifth Epsilon in Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell.

The group is joined by a new female ally, who warns Hunt and the others that it is impossible to take down the Rogue Nation. There is the irony of that warning since the series is called Mission: Impossible.

Other cast members include Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner (present in Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol), and Alec Baldwin. The trailer shows Baldwin’s character as Ethan’s political antagonist.

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation shows that 2015 is going to be a major year for Renner. He also reprises his role as Clint Barton aka Hawkeye in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
