Video: Japanese anime ‘Noir’ FUNimation Blu-Ray trailer

If you love action-packed anime titles that feature girls-with-guns, then look forward to the upcoming Blu-Ray release of the 2001 anime title Noir. You can currently stream the 26-episode anime on FUNimation, Anime Network, and Hulu (through a partnership with FUNimation & Anime Network). This is an anime title that you must watch if you are into movies like The Professional or La Femme Nikita, which center on the dark and gritty world of contract assassinations.

FUNimation, which currently holds the North American regional license, has posted the “coming soon” trailer for its scheduled April 14th release.

This trailer starts off by showing the difference between the original version and the Blu-Ray version, where the latter is viewed in high-definition (HD). If you are willing to buy the compete set of Noir, then be willing to dish out $50.

The upcoming Blu-Ray release contains plenty of extra content such as commentaries, music videos, cast interviews, crew interviews, and more.

Noir, a noir-esque series, centers on two female protagonists: Kirika Yuumura and Mireille Bouquet.

The former is an amnesiac teenage girl from Japan, who possesses a killing instinct. Kirika looks like a harmless teenager, but she is a professional killer. If you cross Kirika, then don’t expect to live long enough to tell the story.

The latter is a young adult from Corsica, who is part of a crime family, but is one of the few survivors of a brutal massacre. She trains as an assassin in hopes of finding out the people responsible for murdering her family.

Eventually Chloe, a knife specialist, beings the third major female character.

Kirika and Mireille take on assassination jobs, but end up crossing paths with the mysterious Les Soldats organization. That organization holds the answers that both girls are seeking.
