You may have heard talk about CW planning a new spinoff series to Flash and Arrow, not counting the planned Vixen animated series, that brings together a group of people together. Brandon Routh and Caity Lotz were confirmed to be part of the cast, where Routh would reprise his role as Ray Palmer aka The Atom.
Lotz, who played Canary in Arrow, was given an unknown role.
The show is confirmed as DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, set in the same universe as Arrow and Flash, which is scheduled for a 2016 broadcast. It is likely that season four of Arrow and season two of The Flash will play the fundamental role of setting up for Legends of Tomorrow.
Oliver Queen aka Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Barry Allen aka Flash (Grant Gustin) assembles Ray Palmer, Sarah Lance, Hawkgirl (Ciarra Renee), Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and Heatwave (Dominic Purcell). Captain Cold muses at the team-up that he’s not a hero, then Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) makes his appearance as the de facto leader of the group.
Their mission is to protect Earth and the fabric of time from Vandal Savage and his powerful army.
Savage is known in the DC Universe as a virtually immortal enemy, where Hunter explains that the villain’s influence has existed throughout history.
Hunter explains that the team will travel across time to thwart Savage’s plans for world domination.
The end of the trailer has a direct reference to the season three finale of Arrow, where Palmer toys with his suit and shrinks himself. He ends up blowing up the entire floor of his lab by accident at the same time.
This trailer also revealed that Lance was resurrected by the Lazarus Pit, where she became White Canary after the mantle of “Canary” was adopted by Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). It should be remembered that Laurel adopted the mantle almost midway into Arrow season three.
Rhetorically asking, will Robbie Amell be in Legends of Tomorrow?
Robbie Amell, Stephen Amell’s cousin, played Ronnie, Caitlyn’s ex-fiance and the other half of Firestorm.
Franz Drameh is added to the team as Joy Johnston in an unknown role.
Legends of Tomorrow should be big because of the ensemble cast of actors, where Miller and Purcell are reunited in a new series. The two actors starred as the heroes of Prison Break.
Arthur Darvill is famously known for his role in Dr. Who as Rory, the husband of Amy Pond and the 11th Doctor’s second companion.
