Tyger Drew-Honey, the young actor and television presenter, has won a part in the forthcoming fourth season of the popular BBC drama series, “Death in Paradise”.
According to TV Wise, exact details of Drew-Honey’s role “are being kept under wraps,” till a further date. However, the 18-year-old has spoken about his casting in the show.
Death in Paradise is very different from anything I’ve done before,” TV Wise quotes him as saying “so it is the perfect choice as my first TV drama project since finishing Outnumbered.”
Previously, Tyger Drew-Honey starred as one of three children in Outnumbered, the semi-improvised sitcom created by Andy Hamilton (Old Harry’s Game) and Gut Jenkin (The Sleeping Dictionary). After five seasons and a number of specials, Outnumbered came to an end earlier this year. Drew-Honey, the son of professional porn-star parents, Linzi Drew and Simon James Honey, was just 11 when the sitcom began.
The actor has also turned his hand to presenting. He was part of the team for the CBBC children’s entertainment TV programme, Friday Download, and, earlier this year, anchored his own three-part documentary series Tyger Takes On…. Commissioned by the soon-to-be-closed-down BBC Three, the series followed the teenager as he investigated how today’s young people are affected by pornography (Tyger Takes On… Porn), body image (Tyger Takes On… The Perfect Body) and the meaning of love (Tyger Takes On… Love).
Excited about the prospect of the imminent filming for the series, the young actor said that the prospect of “[being] on the sunny shores of Guadeloupe will certainly make a change from those leafy London suburbs that I’ve been used to!”
For Death in Paradise, Drew-Honey will be joining series regulars Kris Marshall (Lightfields), stars Sara Martins (Little White Lies), Danny John-Jules (Red Dwarf) and Don Warrington (New Street Law) and new regular Joséphine Jobert (Sous le soleil de Saint-Tropez).
According to reports, Death in Paradise Season 4 is scheduled to premiere in the UK on BBC One sometime in early 2015.
