New York - Superstar Idina Menzel has been unstoppable this year. Yesterday, she was nominated again for a Best Actress Tony award for her role in the musical "If/Then."
Menzel graced the covers of Billboard and Variety magazines and she belted out the Oscar-winning song "Let It Go" at the 86th Academy Awards ceremony.
A Tony-winning actress, Menzel announced that she will play a one-night-only show at New York's hallowed Radio City Music Hall on June 16. This marks her sole planned for the year thus far, as well as her first time performing at this iconic venue. Last year she played at Carnegie Hall for a sold-out crowd.
Menzel is known for her show-stopping performances in musicals and she has been hailed by the Denver Post as the "Streisand of her generation."
She was honored at Variety's inaugural "Power of Women NY" event for her work with "A Broader Way," the foundation she co-created in 2010, which is dedicated to helping girls from urban communities and subsequently offering them an outlet for self-expression and creativity through art-related programs.
Menzel was the voice behind Else in the Oscar-winning Disney film Frozen. She made history this year by becoming the first Tony-winning actor to have a song in the Billboard Hot 100 charts, when it escalated its way up the charts, peaking at No. 5. Ever since, the movie has become the highest-grossing animated film of all-time. The song "Let It Go" was recently remixed by world renowned DJ Armin van Buuren.
