New York City - Hollywood actor Tom Hanks found a college girl's student ID in the park Tuesday and immediately launched a Twitter campaign to track her down and return it.
Tom Hanks was relaxing in the park on Tuesday when he happened upon the student ID card. The ID card was reportedly issued by Fordham University in New York City and pictured a pretty young lady by the name of Lauren.
In order to protect her identity, Hanks covered her surname with his thumb and took a photo, which he posted on Twitter. That tweet has since been retweeted 7,500 times and favorited by 16,364 Twitter members at the time of writing. As reported by Sky News, he got an excellent response with people telling him he was "awesome."
He basically tweeted the words, "Lauren! I found your Student ID in the park. If you still need it my office will get to you. Hanx."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it seems Hanks quickly received a reply when a friend of Lauren's called Hannah Anderson responded saying "@tomhanks lolol this is my friend!"
According to the BBC, soon afterwards another friend, claiming to be Lauren's roommate, sent a tweet thanking him for returning the ID to its owner.

It turns out that right at the moment of writing, Lauren and her friend Alex are on their way to an interview with Good Morning America about Tom Hanks finding the student ID. Not only will Lauren get back her property, but she also gets to experience a little adventure too.

So all's well that ends well, and it turns out two-time Oscar winning Tom Hanks had a similar experience in the past and was actually "paying it forward." It seems he was on the receiving end of a similar act of kindness a while back when a man found his credit card on the streets of New York City and returned it to him.
This reportedly happened back in March and he went onto Twitter then too, saying: "A guy named Tony found my credit card on the street in NYC and returned it! Tony! You make this city even greater! Thanx. HANX."
