A brand-new trailer has been released for "The Maze Runner", the upcoming film based on James Dashner's novel of the same name.
Directed by Wes Ball, the movie, a science-fiction mystery-drama thriller, has been adapted by the writers Grant Pierce Myers, T. S. Nowlin and Noah Oppenheim.
It stars Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf ) as Thomas, a young man who wakes up to find himself trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys. He has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze, can he hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones ) as Newt, Kaya Scodelario (Skins ) as Teresa and Will Poulter (Son of Rambow ) as Gally.
As previously reported by Collider , that Fox have already acquired the film rights to Dashner's second book, The Scorch Trials. The screenplay for the second movie will be handled by T.S. Nowlin, with supervision from Ball; the assumption being that he will return to the director's chair, too.
Last week, Ball announced at the San Diego Comic-Con that they hope to start shooting on the sequel in the fall, should the film become a success.
The Maze Runner is due for release in the US on September 19, and in the UK on October 10.
