Other networks as they grow bigger suffer from the same thing. But, as Schumer hosted the MTV Movie Awards, she made several jabs at the network. But, they did inject musical performances in the show. Now, musical performances at award shows can often be awkward and out of place.
They were handed out April 12 in downtown Los Angeles.
On MTV one would think it would fit in perfect. Who knows as that is not for this story. The music channel handed out movie awards, and have been doing so for years. That alone should indicate that these are not to be taken too seriously, and aren’t.
When Robert Downey Jr was presented with the Generation Award he quipped about the past of the show. He said when it started he was thinking to himself that it was an award show for his generation, whatever the heck that meant.
Kevin Hart won the Comedic Genius Award, which was presented by Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel rattled off so many short jokes that they got lost in the shuffle. But, a genius award already?
It was obvious that the winners knew they won ahead of time. One would not think Bradley Cooper would be there if he didn’t win. Meryl Streep wasn’t going to show up, either.
Anyway, here are the winners as it was a big night for “The Fault in Our Stars.”
