Marvel Studios has revealed a new trailer for Captain America: Civil War. By the end of the trailer a new hero enters the fray. But whose side is he on?
The hype machine for Captain America: Civil War has picked up this week. New character posters for #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan were released days ago. In anticipation for today's trailer, fans got teaser trailers for both sides of the superhero conflict.
Now Marvel Studios has unveiled the second trailer for Captain America: Civil War. We hear from both Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) throughout. While best friends, they both share different viewpoints regarding the actions of superheroes. Footage from The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron shows the kind of destruction "saving the world" can cause. Iron Man is on the side of heroes working with the government. Captain America disagrees.
While Captain America: Civil War will star many of the heroes from last year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, new heroes are also introduced. Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. We see him go toe-to-toe with The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) in two action-packed scenes.
The big money shot of the trailer comes at the end when everyone's friendly neighbor Spider-Man (Tom Holland) springs into action. This is our first glimpse of the wallcrawler since Sony and Marvel agreed to share the character between studios. One big difference between the new costume and older ones is animation in the eyes. Spider-Man blinks! This could lead to many unique facial expressions on-screen.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016.
