article imageReview: WWE RAW pulling out all stops — 06/30/14

WWE RAW is the flagship show of the WWE, coming to you from different parts of the globe on a weekly basis on Monday nights.
After the lukewarm buy-rate for the Summerslam PPV last year, the WWE is pulling out all stops to have the most star-studded event possible this summer and nothing highlighted that more than four superstars making their returns to the WWE ring this past Monday night on RAW.
After the broadcast team had teased a return of a former WWE champion all night, midway through the show, The Miz showed up. In what was perceived as another letdown by the WWE, the crowd jeered loudly for the "Awesome One" who seems to have gone back to being a heel again. While he was explaining how big of a star he has become while he was gone from the WWE, Chris Jericho showed up in his light-up jacket and the crowd erupted. Y2J played to the crowd for a bit before delivering the codebreaker to the Miz. When he tried to get his catchphrase line in, he was interrupted by the Wyatt family who laid a beatdown on Jericho which was punctuated by a Sister Abigail at the hands of Bray Wyatt. Jericho is a huge star for Wyatt to be feuding with and nobody is better at elevating young talent than Y2J.
The return surprises kept coming as AJ Lee returned to interrupt a promo by Paige, who refused to grant a match to AJ, referencing how she had won the title in the first place. But AJ got the crowd to voice their opinion and vey soon we had an impromptu match for the Divas championship where AJ beat Paige with a quick rollup to regain her title the exact same way she lost it a few months back.
The Authority opened the show with John Cena, who was announced to be on the cover of the WWE 2k14 video game, and immediately announced his next big challenge at the Battleground PPV, where he would be in a fatal fourway match with Reigns, Randy Orton and Kane. Later on all the four participants were involved in a tag match which led to a disqualification finish after Kane decimated Cena to setup a potential cashing in of the MITB contract by Seth rollins, when Ambrose and Reigns thwarted that attempt. Triple H stared down with Reigns to close the show, teasing a one-on-one match between the two at Summerslam.
Speaking of Seth Rollins, he was involved in a fairly competitive match with RVD earlier, which he won. During his post-match promo, he was cut short by Dean Ambrose who promised to ruin all his attempts at cashing in the contract.
In an interesting development, the team of zeb Colter & Jack Swagger turned face as they confronted Rusev & Lana when they were running America down again. This should be interesting given how tough Jack Swagger is and Rusev needs a credible opponent such as him heading into the summer.
In other matches, Kofi Kingston beat Cesaro while Dolph Ziggler beat Fandango and the team of Stardust & Goldust beat Rybaxel.
