Episode four of KanColle, “Now It’s Our Turn! Follow me!,” is now streaming on Crunchyroll for paid members. If you are a free member, you can watch this episode roughly less than seven days from now.
The episode begins with a somber start with Mutsuki contemplating over the death of her older sister, Kisaragi, who got blindsided by a missile and suck to the bottom of the sea. I had a feeling that Kisaragi was going to die sooner or later let alone in that episode.
You have to expect that some of the Fleet Girls will die since this is war. It is no different from any other war, where all sides will suffer some casualties. Mutsuki’s doing her best to keep a straight face during a time that should be used for mourning and grieving, but she doesn’t have that luxury.
It is terrible to say so, but you don’t have that time if you’re out fighting a war.
Things lightened up during a mission briefing that involves Kongou’s participation and her flamboyant introduction put a smile on my face.
Apparently her squad members are just as flashy.
I found it funny that the Kongou Squad members are airheads except for the one wearing glasses, which doesn’t surprise me at all.
Watching the Kongou Squad put on a concert to wake up Shimakaze was very interesting and entertaining to watch, but I felt bad for Fubuki because she had to help out.
Things got funnier when Naka showed up since she doesn’t want to be upstaged by the Kongou Squad as the Naval District’s “official idol.” I had a feeling that Naka would have shown up shortly after the Kongou Squad held their “concert.”
I had a WTF look when Kongou interrupted the search for Shimakaze to have the squad’s scheduled tea time.
I laughed hard at this scene. I mean don’t they have an important mission to pull off and don’t they have to retrieve Shimakaze to execute the mission? Tea time could probably wait until after the mission is completed.
But I was surprised that it drew Shimakaze’s attention.
Finally things get serious when it’s time to take on the Abyssal Fleet.
I like how the girls keep true to their names, which reflects what kind of naval vessels they are. The Kongou Squad members have lived up to their name.
I also have to admit that Shimakaze was entertaining to watch in combat because she can act cute and adorable about it.
This was an enjoyable episode to watch. I found the idol aspect cute, adorable, and entertaining. I also liked the seriousness of military strategy, which was portrayed in an authentic way. Everything about this episode was interesting in some way or form.
