Review: ‘GARO — The Animation’ EP 15 is 10th Doctor’s secret wet dream

Episode 15 of GARO: The Animation, titled “Project G,” is currently streaming on FUNimation for all paid subscribers. Free members can watch “Project G” seven days from now. If you have watched the first half of the series, then you should know that Leon Luis is no longer the wielder of the Golden Armor because of the consequences of falling into Mendoza’s trap.

Herman, Leon’s father, should have taught him better than that. I strongly feel that Herman is mostly to blame for not guiding Leon right because he is going around sleeping with other women as his son does most of the necessary dirty work of killing Horrors.

Even though Herman still has his Silver Armor, most of the Horror slaying rests in the hands of Prince Alfonso.

This episode focuses on a new concept, which I have never seen before in the live-action GARO series.

It reminds me of shows, where people learn to come up with means to fight certain enemies without the help of certain heroes in case they are not around. This is similar to Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and one of the live-action Ultraman series.

Santa Bard’s master craftsmen have banded together to create a man-made armor similar to the Golden Armor.

Even masters must go through the tedious task of “trial and error.” The armor looks awesome, but it’s too heavy to move around. It is still hard to move around even if the wearer is in tip-top shape because of the weight.

There is the matter of speed and agility that is not present.

I have the feeling that the young Julio may end up being an armored knight in the future because I feel he has the potential to.

They manage to make a workable prototype of the artificial Golden Armor after a couple of tries, but there is much room for improvement. I do feel that this might turn into a mega armor for the Golden Knight like in Guyver: The Bio-Boosted Armor.

The big problem with the armor is the mobility, which is crucial when fighting Horrors. I was happy to see the artificial Golden Armor in action against one of the Horrors in actual combat as it reminds me of the DC Comics superhero Steel.

I was surprised to see the artificial Golden Armor to be formidable against Horrors, but the person using it needs to be athletic.

This is perhaps the most enjoyable episode of GARO: The Animation so far because it shows that the people you protect are not necessary weak. You can inspire people to come up with ways to combat their aggressors and oppressors. It is a very valuable lesson to learn in the vein of teaching a village to fish and farm in order to feed them for life.

You teach people to defend themselves to defend them for life.
