By Sylvannia Soulet     Jun 15, 2014 in Entertainment
The original voice of American Top 40 and Shaggy from Scooby Doo, Casey Kasem has passed away Sunday morning. He was 82.
Kasem's daugher Kerri confirmed the news on her Facebook page:
"Early this Father’s Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends," she wrote. "Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken. Thank you for all your love, support and prayers. "
Kasem suffered from Parkinson's disease in his final years and was embroiled in a bitter custody battle involving his adult children and his wife from a second marriage.
Last week Kerri initiated end of life procedures for her father, which included the removal of his IV tube and source of nourishment.
