New York - Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott has been found dead in her New York apartment, and it is believed the 47-year-old committed suicide.
L'Wren has been romantically linked with the Rolling Stones front man since 2001 and the couple often appeared together at fashion shows and celebrity show business events. The designer was found in her eighth floor apartment by her assistant. Jagger has recently flown out to Australia on tour with his band and there has been no statement on the news so far.
L'Wren, who was raised as a Mormon in Utah, often caught the eye of celebrity photographers because of her towering 6ft 4in slim frame. Mick Jagger is understood to be shocked and devastated and will unlikely fulfil the concert dates scheduled to take place in Perth, Australia on Wednesday.
L'Wren had established herself as a stylist and styled many A-list celebrities including Madonna, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Michelle Obama, Nicole Kidman and Oprah Winfrey. L'Wren was also a model and recently cancelled a fashion show she was due to host.
The New York Daily News reports that the model was found hanging from a scarf tied to a doorknob in her eighth-floor apartment on 11th Avenue. The grim discovery was found by L'Wren's assistant after she received a text from Scott asking her to come over.
