Matt Smith has said he'd be ready to return to "Doctor Who," the science-fiction drama series that made him a world-wide television star.
He was a guest at the Wizard World Comic Con, in Minneapolis, and made the remarks after being asked about any future association with the show.
As reported by Mstarz, referring to last year's 50th-anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, in which David Tennant (Tenth Doctor) and Tom Baker (Fourth Doctor/Curator) both appeared, the 31-year-old actor said of a return to Doctor Who for him, "I'll happily come back for another anniversary!"
Earlier this month, Baker, too, said that he'd be happy to make another appearance, provided that "it was a nice part, with some good lines."
Smith, who played the Eleventh Doctor for four years, bowed out in last year's Christmas special, The Time of the Doctor, handing over to his successor, Peter Capaldi.
Since January, Capaldi has been filming his first full season of the 50-year-old series, which is due to air later this year.
While fans are eagerly awaiting the new man in the TARDIS, Smith has been very firmly on the Who-radar recently. Last week, UKTV Watch dedicated several hours of its schedule to screening several episodes from his time on Doctor Who; all of which was rounded off by a brand-new documentary: Doctor Who: Farewell to Matt Smith.
This follows a similar day, on December 27, 2013, just two days after Smith ended his tenure on the show; and came just weeks after their successful conclusion of an 11-part award-winning American documentary series, with The Doctors Revisited: The Eleventh Doctor.
A new season of Doctor Who, starring Peter Capaldi, will be shown later in 2014, as will a Christmas special.
Meanwhile, over on the Horror Channel, a new season of Classic Doctor Who (to include stories from the first seven Doctors is currently in progress.
