Las Vegas - Lead performer Kyle Efthemes talks about "Men of the Strip" and the revue's popularity, and he remembers his best friend, the late but great Nate Estimada.
Most recently, they performed four shows at D Las Vegas Showroom on August 28, 29, 30 and 31, all of which were well-received. "Those were pretty cool. It was good to be back on the Vegas strip. It was a cozy theater and we were very intimate with the crowd," Efthemes said. "We really rocked it out at the D. They were a lot of satisfied girls there. It's a really exciting show."
One of those shows featured a cameo from Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte, who was in Vegas celebrating his birthday. "We actually got him to take off his shirt and the girls went crazy. They loved it, and he took a bit ole bite out of his birthday cake. That was pretty funny. He has a good personality," he said.
Their male revue on E! has been broadcast worldwide in such places as Latin America, Canada, North America and Europe, and Efthemes noted that they "killed" the ratings. "It has been very successful, and we are pretty excited about the future," he admitted.
The genuine performer shared that he has been doing a lot of calisthenics lately, where he is putting his health and fitness first. "I have been going to the park and I have been using the pull-up bars and dip-bars and I have been doing gymnastics. It has been really fun," he said. "I haven't touched the weights in 2.5 months, even since Nate passed away."
Speaking of Nate Estimada, being his best friend, Efthemes had nothing but the greatest words for the late "Men of the Strip" performer, whose motto was "cowboy business." "It's a natural part of life. He has gone to another part of his journey. All I think about is him. It has been tough," he admitted.
Efthemes is fully supportive of how people have embraced and gravitated towards the Nate Estimada Memorial Foundation Fund, which will preserve and honor his vision, and he thanked everybody for all of the outpouring and love. "We had so much support financially, and the amount of people that were even just at his funeral was tremendous. There wasn't even enough space in the place there. We created another foundation that his mother is taking care of that will benefit other less fortunate people. We gotta keep his memory and name alive," he said.
He revealed that "Men of the Strip" is going to be very active, whether they will be playing in shows in Las Vegas or even at the national or international level. "In the meantime, I am enjoying the summer heat in Vegas, while it is lasting," he said.
