Concern continues over the health of Joni Mitchell

Speaking with the Huffington Post, Crosby said: “She is home, she is in care, she is recovering. How much she’s going to come back, and when, I don’t know.”

Joni Mitchell is a Canadian singer-songwriter and painter, known for a string of successful albums. Arguably her best album is Blue, released in 1971.

Mitchell was found collapsed at her home in Los Angeles on March 31. She was unconscious at the time was was rushed to hospital. A statement issued by her publicist at the time denied that Mitchell was in a coma and it stated that she was “resting comfortably” and continued to “improve and get stronger each day.”

Since then there has been little released through official channel. Crosby’s conversation with the Huffington Post represents the most detailed information to have emerged for some time. In the feature, Crosby adds: “She had an aneurysm, and nobody found her for a while. And she’s going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury.”

David Crosby has a long musical heritage, associated with The Byrds; Crosby, Stills & Nash (and sometimes Young), as well as Crosby, Pevar & Raymond. He has been a long time friend of Mitchell’s. Crosby produced Mitchell’s debut album Song to a Seagull.

A website has been set up for people to post messages about Mitchell called “We Love You, Joni!
