Harrison Ford’s first public appearance after plane crash

When Ford entered the stage at Comic-Con, the audience broke out into incessant applause and bellowing screams.

In March, Ford crash-landed his World War II-era single engine plane. He had suffered multiple injuries due to the accident.

Regarding his injuries, Ford said to the audience, “I walked here so how bad can it be?” Ford’s pelvis and ankle had broken in the crash. He could not attend the Star Wars Celebration convention that took place in April.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Ford said that his return to the Star Wars saga, in which he is reprising his role as Hans Solo, “should have felt ridiculous.” Instead, it “felt great.” Ford, now 72, said, “It was thirty plus years ago and I sorta grew up.”

Ford had also gotten injured on the sets of “The Force Awakens” when his ankle hit the door of the Millennium Falcon, the legendary spacecraft piloted by his character.

Ford said that being part of the Star Wars original has contributed massively to his career success. He felt “very grateful” for the humongous success of the film.

At the annual San Diego event, Ford appeared alongside his co-stars from the original. Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, who respectively played the roles of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, were there.

The movie’s two new young stars, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley, playing the characters of Finn and Rey, also took to the stage.

BBC reported that several fans had queued up for weeks in advance to book a ticket to the event.

The audience had a chance to ask questions at the event. They were also the first to watch a behind the scenes video that lasted three minutes.
Much to the delight of all Star Wars lovers, “The Force Awakens” is to hit theaters on Dec 18, 2015.
