The first official trailer for Damon Lindelof’s eagerly anticipated brand-new supernatural drama series has now been released by HBO.
Damon Lindelof has already been responsible for a slew of high-profile television and film genre series, including Lost, Prometheus and Cowboys & Aliens.
Returning to television for HBO’s The Leftovers, sees the writer/producer’s new supernatural series present an intriguing premise: it focuses on a group of people in a suburban community left behind after the Rapture summons most of humanity up to heaven … or did it?
Indiewire has already described The Leftovers as one of its 20 Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2014.
The cast includes The Distrct ’s Justin Theroux in the lead, alongside Amy Brenneman (Private Practice), Ann Dowd (Compliance), Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), Michael Gaston (Prison Break) and Liv Tyler (Robot & Frank). The pilot has been directed by the actor/producer/director/writer Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights).
The Leftovers is due to premiere on HBO on June 15, 2014.
