A frenzy of indie authors vlogging to readers from all over the world in AR Films new show "Fiction Frenzy TV." Aside from authors, the show will feature indie artists, filmmakers and musicians. The show will be available on Digital Journal every week.
From best selling to provocative debut authors across multiple genres such as fantasy, thriller, young adult, paranormal, romance and more join together to VLog their way onto your screens and mobile devices.
Fiction Frenzy TV is a reality show where authors grapple with the routines and responsibilities of their daily lives while juggling the pressures of being successful independent authors. The weekly show not only provides insightful information about the ups and downs of the indie publishing business but pokes fun at themselves as well.
Kellie Sheridan, author of the Hitchhiker Strain says, "While I have utmost respect for traditional publishers, I knew that self publishing was the right decision for me. Number one reason is the creative freedom. I enjoy the publishing process and like to have input on my books from beginning to end."
John Patrick Kennedy, author of Plague of Angels comments, "My writing is different and I know I can be successful as an indie author. I find that I as an indie author retaining my publishing rights is what is important. "
The Fiction Frenzy TV debut show entertains as well as informs with authors poking fun at themselves. For example, author of action spy thriller "Smokescreen", Khaled Talib takes us with him to a restaurant in Malaysia where he reveals what a "sheesha" is and how it literally caused a smokescreen during his video segment.
Up and coming James Edwards, author of the "Soul Gazer" trilogy is someone to watch out for. He is witty, entertaining and creative in his videos. In the debut show, he time travels back from the future to provide advice to himself. Humour aside, James provides grassroots advice to young indie authors like himself. He definitely speaks from the heart. The teaser video garnered over 12,500 views and hundreds of comments when it aired on March 24th.
On the lighter side, best selling authors Roy Huff (Everville series) and Mary Ting (Crossroads Saga and Something Great series) know how to connect with their tens of thousands of fans. Their quirky and warm personal messages show other indie authors that the art of reaching out to their readers is to be fun and interactive. Communicating with their readers regularly with entertaining events builds the momentum and buzz around their books which in traditional publishing would require a publicist to do. Readers today don't want to hear "buy my book". They want to find out what their favourite author is doing or when their next book will be out. Huff and Ting are role models for new indie authors who are just entering into the business.
Jeff Dawson, author of Occupation and Gateway: Pioche, takes a unique approach in his VLog by giving inspiration to all indie artists as he reads his World War II poem "Sunflowers 1941". He says, "Like us they are fighting to survive. And that's exactly what we as indies are trying to do. We are going to and we shall succeed in showing the world that we know what the hell we are doing also."
The debut episode was released on March 31, 2014 and is available at:
