I loved how the episode started off with Shizuo beating the crap out of a pair of thieves trying to seal his package before transitioning to the new online chat room, which is being used by members of the Dollars.
This is where I feel bad for Celty, who is trying to live a quiet and peaceful life.
It was funny to see Celty hide in a literal ball to sulk after losing one million yen, which she lost after being chased by the motorcycle cops.
I was surprised to see Shinra break the fourth wall let alone in this episode. It was entertaining to have Shinra explain Izaya’s younger twin siblings, Mairu and Kururi, joining Raira Academy. I thought Mairu’s introduction was entertaining because she did not hold back.
It made me ask this question, where the f—k were you people when I was in high school?
Mairu got more in-depth, which made the scene funny. I think I’m going to like Mairu as a new character because she will add to the story in her own unique way.
It got funnier when Mairu openly told the class that she already has a boy in mind who she wants to sleep with, in a sexual manner.
She openly professes her bisexuality by saving there is no limit to how many female partners in mind.
Kururi was surprising because she was the only student in class wearing a gym uniform.
There was the “holy s—t” moment when Mairu swiftly took down a group of classmates that tried to “slut shame” her.
I loved Mairu’s interrogation tactic with tacks, which freaked out one student to the point where she revealed the ringleader.
One of the bullies’ school bag set on fire, which I suspect Kururi was responsible.
Aoba gets lucky near the end when the twin siblings kiss him on the lips as “thanks” for “helping them” deal with the bullies.
This episode was unpredictable and I am curious on how the subplots involving the other characters will connect to the main plot of the bounty on Celty’s head. I look forward to episode three of Durarara!! x 2, which comes this Saturday.
