The fourth instalment of Season 8 of "Doctor Who", starring Peter Capaldi and Jenna, Coleman, has its television premiere this weekend.
Ahead of its terrestrial broadcast, a number of trailers have been made available for the Steven Moffat-scripted Listen.
Last week's adventure — Robot of Sherwood by actor-writer and Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss (Game of Thrones) — saw the TARDIS crew encounter Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham in what the Radio Times described as having "reawakened the inherent fun of Doctor Who's premise."
Of Listen, the Radio Times says it "revives its duty to scare."
When ghosts of past and future crowd into their lives, the Doctor and Clara are thrown into an adventure that takes them to the very end of the universe.
What happens when the Doctor is alone? And what scares the grand old man of Time and Space? Listen!
A further trailer (see immediately below) has been made available via BBC America:
Joining Peter Capaldi (the Doctor), Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) and Samuel Anderson (Danny Pink) for Listen are Remi Gooding (Rupert Pink) and Robert Goodman (Reg).
Meanwhile, the synopsis for next week's adventure — Time Heist by Steve Thompson (Sherlock) — has also been published by the BBC:
The Doctor turns bank robber when he is given a task he cannot refuse - to steal from the most dangerous bank in the cosmos.
With the help of a beautiful shape-shifter and cyber-augmented gamer, the Doctor and Clara must fight their way past deadly security and come face to face with the fearsome Teller: a creature of terrifying power that can detect guilt ...
In the UK, Doctor Who: Listen is scheduled to start at 7.30 p.m. BST on BBC One on Saturday, September 13.
