CTV meteorologist draws storm over Frankie MacDonald comments (Includes interview)

YouTube personality Frankie MacDonald has remained silent on the issue that has disturbed many Maritimers this weekend but his followers have been very vocal as well as unforgiving in their defense of the Nova Scotia man.
The tweets from CTV meteorologist Cindy Day in question appeared to many as being demeaning to Mr. MacDonald and has prompted an apology from Ms. Day on her Facebook page.
In her apology Ms.Day says: I’ve been following the fallout from innocent comments that I made earlier today on Facebook. It breaks my heart to think that I offended anyone.. it’s the last thing I would ever intentionally do. I truly and thoroughly apologize if my comments may have caused any offence to anyone. I really didn’t want to imply any insult to Frankie or his work. The reality is I’m among Frankie’s biggest fans. I need you all to know that.

The only comment on Frankie MacDonald’s page says, Hi Guys i am doing so well on my videos so far and i always ignore negative and rude comments all the time especially trolls and Bad Guys. However, it is clear this comment was not posted due to Ms. Day’s tweets.
Canning, Nova Scotia resident Midge Phillips replied to Ms.Day’s apology with a comment that seemed to be wagging her finger. She says, “Frankie would never demean you. You have often been wrong.”
Frankie’s forecast for Saturday had predicted a major snow storm for Nova Scotia which changed direction just before hitting the province. MacDonald’s forecasts are usually accurate, however, when Cindy Day reminded people that MacDonald was not a meteorologist it did not sit well with them. There is now an online petition demanding that CTV fire Cindy Day and hire someone else to forecast the weather.
While most people were upset for Frankie, some did jump to Ms.Day’s defense.
Halifax resident Colin Young said in a Facebook interview this morning, Unreal now people want her to lose her job. She didn’t say anything that was mean or untrue. People writing to her trying to bait her into saying something. Now she’s not allowed free speech. People need to get a life. For one she never said anything that was disrespectful. And these people who keep bothering her over a simple comment are the same people who would be in an uproar if it was happening to them. This amounts to online bullying of this woman. Just because someone may not like what someone says {doesn’t} gives them the right to bully her. She never meant to hurt anyone and from what I have seen in her comments doesn’t disrespect anyone either.
