article imageGene Simmons home raided for child porn — Simmons not a suspect

By Holly L. Walters     Aug 21, 2015 in Entertainment
Gene Simmons is best known as bass guitarist from the legendary rock group, KISS. Last Thursday, the Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force searched the star's home for child pornography. Detectives insist rocker and his family are not suspects.
Born Chaim Witz, Gene Simmons is of Israeli-American descent. Known to his fans by his celebrity persona, the Demon, Simmons and the rock group KISS have sold close to 100 million albums globally. At 66-years-old, Gene Simmons is a strong advocate for programs such as ChildFund International. Through this organization, he took his family-centric show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” to Zambia where he visited many of the 140 children that he sponsors.
Because of their philanthropic work and dedication to Mending Kids International, his family received the MEND Humanitarian Award. In addition to being a rocker for KISS, his other interests lie in comic books and science fiction. His published works include science fiction fanzines called Tinderbox, Mantis and Adventure and Sci-Fi Showcase.
While he was strongly against marriage most of his life, Simmons finally married his live-in partner and mother to Nick and Sophie in 2011. Shannon Tweed made her own mark on the celebrity scene as a Playboy model and actress.
Most of Simmons fans know the man as a makeup wielding guitarist who can’t seem to keep his snake-like tongue in his mouth. However, it was his show Family Jewels that gave his fans and non-fans some insight into his personal life. Shown to be abrasive, brash and having a fondness for women, Gene Simmons is quite the family man, as seen in his love for his wife and children.
He’s also extremely intelligent and involved in politics. As a supporter to the administration of George W. Bush and his foreign policy, he made his criticism widely known in regards to his regrets for voting for Obama and his support for the 2009 health care reform. Born in Israel in 1949, he made a trek back to his homeland in 2011.

Much of Gene Simmon's time is spent on the road with the rock group KISS. However, in his absence last year, an incident may have occurred when he was away on tour, ABC reports. While the incident is said to involve child pornography, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Los Angeles stated that the family is cooperating fully, especially as the unit removes computers, lap tops and other technical devices that may be involved in the case.
This is an active investigation at present, and any pertinent information that the police have is being held at the moment until they’re ready to release their findings. With the situation involving Jared Fogle at the forefront of the news media in recent days, this has come as a surprise to Simmons, his family and fans. However, Lt. John Jenal assures the media and public that while the incident occurred in the rock mogul's home, Simmons and his family are not suspected of committing any sort of crime.
In addition to his wife Shannon Tweed, Simmons is also taking to social media to let the public know he had nothing to do with any child porn incidents that may have taken place in the star's home. Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the day that the news broke, Simmons tweeted approximately 17 articles, and the comments surrounding them where the police have said that Simmons nor his family is involved in the child porn investigation.
Shannon Tweed took to Facebook to alert the public that their iPads, iPhones and computers had all been cleared, and they welcomed the real investigation to begin to unfold. She also contacted KTLA News in regards to details that may have been misconstrued. While they would love to discuss the details, both Tweed and Simmons reported that they are not at liberty to divulge anything further until the police have done a thorough investigation.
The ICAC has over 60 task forces nationwide and are involved in aiding local offenders who use the Internet and other online communication devices to sexually exploit underage children. While Tweed tweeted about the heinous crime that may have been committed on their premises when Simmons and the family was away, they assured the media and public that law enforcement officials are taking a proactive role in the investigation process.
