Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan has been critically injured in a six-vehicle crash on the New Jersey turnpike. Morgan was returning home from a Friday night show when a limo bus he and others were in overturned; one passenger in the limo bus was killed.
Morgan had performed at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Delaware. The crash occurred at about 1 a.m. and involved two tractor-trailers, two cars, an SUV and the limo bus Morgan was in. Latest reports say a dozing truck driver was unaware traffic had slowed and reared-ended the limo bus.
The most recent reports say the truck driver, a 35-year-old male, is facing multiple charges. As of Sunday, Mr. Morgan is said to have a broken leg, broken femur, broken nose and several broken ribs. He has been conscious and responded to medical personal but remains listed as critical; he's expected to remain in hospital for some time.
The 45-year-old is in intensive care at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Center in New Brunswick, N.J. There were 7 persons in the limo bus when it flipped and rolled; along with Morgan, three others are in intensive care, one is in fair condition and 2 were uninjured. The man who died was comedian James McNair of Peekskill, New York.
Morgan is an alumni of Saturday Night Live and was in the cast of Tina Fey's 30 Rock. He also had his own show, The Tracy Morgan Show.
