article imageChurch to protest Lorde concert

The status of being an idol has landed Lorde in hot water with the Westboro Baptist Church. The Church plan to "warn the living" and protest the Kiwi singer-songwriter at her Kansas concert this week.
Explaining their actions WBC posted: "New Zealand came forth with a young lassie that doesn't have enough sense to put in a thimble. Now the world has elevated her to the status of an idol."
In a series of tweets, now deleted, Lorde sarcastically responded by asking fans to wear "rainbow clothing" and "kiss church members who are the same sex as you".
WBC became well-known for their extreme ideologies after declaring "God Hates Fags" at high-profile funerals including Steve Jobs and Michael Jackson.
This is not the first time that Lorde has caught the attention of WBC as they recently parodied her song "Royals".
