Chatting with Chris Hodgson: Actor and model (Includes interview)

Regarding his experience of 50 Shades! The Musical Parody in Manila, he said, “It was very different than my experience doing the show in Las Vegas. It was a much larger theater, a bigger production and more people involved. Everybody there was super nice and organized.”

Hodgson revealed that he is back in the 50 Shades parody in Vegas. “I do a lot of modeling. I just worked for Gucci a few weeks ago. There are always things that pop up and keep me busy,” he said.

Each day, Hodgson is motivated by his work for the production. “I have to work out every day for the show, so that’s a good motivator. If I didn’t have to be in a show where I am shirtless, I think my motivation would have been a little bit less. I try to keep in shape for myself as well, because it does help with modeling and those gigs,” he said. “To be honest, my motivation is more work-oriented.”

Aside from acting, Hodgson is actively involved with singing and modeling. “I wasn’t always a singer. I started to find my voice about 20, and I did little bits of singing and over the years I got more confident with it,” he said. “It is fun. I get a different satisfaction when I am standing there singing, than when I am just performing in the show.”

Hodgson listed the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson as his primary influence in life. “Michael Jackson is my No. 1 influence,” he said. “This is why I am where I am. I’ve been watching his videos when I was nine years old, and I tried to slow them down and copy them. I would literally pause the moves to try and get them exactly how he did them.”

For his fans, he said, “Thank you. My fans in the Philippines are so generous and so nice. There is such a culture of hospitality there.”

He defined the word success as “Constantly working in the performing arts industry.” “If you keep working and busy, then you are successful in what you do, and you are always trying to achieve different goals,” he concluded.
