Sheen investigation
Officer Matthew Ludwig of the Los Angeles police said Wednesday that their Threat Management Unit (TMU) has launched an investigation into Sheen. Their actions stem from a March 31 criminal investigation report in which Sheen was listed as the suspect.
While no specific details of the allegations were issued by Ludwig, the TMU is the department’s elite stalking unit and often investigates persons accused of stalking a former spouse or, ironically, a celebrity.
Sheen is being sued by a former ex-fiancee, Scottine Ross, a porn actor also known as Brett Rossi, but police have not said if they are investigating Sheen in relation to Ross.
Ross, whose relationship with Sheen ended in 2014, has sued him for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She claims he did not tell her he was HIV positive until after they’d had sex five times.
She has also charged that he abused her physically, including kicking her, and that he threatened to kill her. Her lawsuit, filed in early December and yet to go to court, also accuses him of false imprisonment..
Police seek tape
In a related item, the entertainment site RadarOnline said Wednesday that L.A. Police subpoenaed them to hand over a 35-minute audio tape they have in which it is alleged Sheen is heard threatening Ross.
The site is resisting that subpoena on the grounds it “violates federal and state law prohibiting the use of search warrants against media companies who are reporting news and information.”
No comment on the investigation has been issued by Sheen.
Sheen has gone on record saying he paid upwards of $10 million to persons he did not name to keep quiet about his being HIV positive, the details of which he himself revealed on the ‘Today’ show in November.
He has also recently asked his child support payments to ex-spouses Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller be reduced. The father of four said his finances have changed for the worse.
