By Earl Dittman     Aug 14, 2014 in Entertainment
Countless great performances were left on the cutting room floor after the initial release of 'Woodstock.' Now, you can see even more from The Who and Santana. Also, to celebrate Elvis Week, a little 'Viva Las Vegas' and The King in concert is in order.
In a new Blu-ray release, music and pop culture fans can now experience never-before-seen performances from Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music, the Oscar-winning documentary about the landmark music event that featured some of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll artists in history. For those observing Elvis Week, you can see even more of "The King" performing ten additional songs in the remastered, special BD edition of Elvis: That's The Way It Is. And, what would any homage to Elvis be without a new look at Viva Las Vegas?
In addition to the special editions of Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music, Elvis: That's The Way It Is and Viva Las Vegas, fans of brilliant and flawless acting performances can now witness three award-worthy turns from a trio of diverse and awe-inspiring actors. Tom Hardy is incredible in his solo portrayal of a normal man caught up in a life-changing event in Locke. James McAvoy, as a corrupt cop, steals the show in shocking, hilarious and aptly-titled Filth. Oscar-winner Halle Berry continues to demonstrate her seemingly endless talent as an actress while portraying a troubled go-go dancer in Frankie & Alice.
In this edition of Essentials, you can also choose from top-notch sci-fi (Oculus, Under The Skin), television classics (Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, Californication), comedy (A Haunted House 2), a must-see documentary (Turtle Power: Definitive History Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), family features (Eleanor's Secret and LEGO Ninjago: Rebooted: Battle For New Ninjago City) and so much more.
