The Emmy Awards will be handed out Aug. 25, but many of them were already bestowed Aug. 16. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were handed out in Los Angeles and sets the stage for what is to come.
Leading the way was HBO with 15, followed by NBC with 10 and then PBS with eight.
Among TV shows, "Saturday Night Live" won the night with 5 awards.
Awards last night came from categories such as reality, host, commercial, guest actors and plenty of technical awards. Casting awards and stunts are also a part of the night.
As the Television Academy put it: This first ceremony of the 66th
Emmy Awards honored guest performers on television dramas and comedy series, as well as the many talented artists and craftspeople behind the scenes to create television excellence.
2014 Creative Arts Emmy® Awards included wins for Netflix (7), and It shows the ever-expanding nature of how entertainment is consumed.
This year’s Creative Arts will air at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 24. on FXM. The Emmy Awards will air live on NBC Monday, Aug. 25. The event was moved to Monday night to avoid airing against the NFL. In all, on Monday, Aug. 25, Emmys will be handed out in 26 categories.
