Lana Del Rey confirmed that she received no compensation for her performance at the Kimye wedding on May 24, despite rumours alleging she was paid fat stacks for her two-song number.
"I would never let a friend pay me to sing at a wedding," the American singer-songwriter told a TMZ camera-person yesterday, stating she played at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's pre-wedding party at Versailles free of charge.
Del Rey's comments followed a series of rumours that she had been paid up to $3 million to sing "Summertime Sadness" for the newlyweds. In actuality, along with a 50-piece orchestra Del Rey, 27, played her hit song along with "Young & Beautiful," according to MTV.
Must have been touching for the happy couple, considering a 50-piece orchestra played Del Rey's "Young & Beautiful" when Kanye proposed to Kim at AT&T Park in San Francisco. According to MTV, the proposal in San Fran also featured a collaboration track, "Knock You Down," with Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, and Yeezy.
Ultraviolence, Del Rey's sophomore album, drops on June 17, Gawker reports.
