The 1995 sci-fi thriller starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt has been adapted for a television series that will premiere in January 2015.
According to, the series will be produced by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett. Th duo's credits include other series such as Nikita and Terra Nova.
SyFy ordered a 90-minute pilot last year, directed by Friday Night Lights alum Jeffery Reiner. The show will star Amanda Schull, Kirk Acevedo, as well as former Nikita castmates Aaron Stanford and Noah Bean. Stanford is slated for the title role.
The 1995 film starred Bruce Willis as James Cole, a convict who is sent back in time from 2035 to 1996 to gather information on a virus that causes a worldwide epidemic in order for future scientists to formulate a cure. He's accidentally sent to 1990, where he gets locked up in a mental institution where he meets the insane son of a scientist and virus expert.
