article imageReview: Mixed emotions from Richard Tyler Epperson

By Wesley Butler     Apr 26, 2014 in Entertainment
New York - Salt Lake City musician Richard Tyler Epperson has been creating music since he started playing bass when he was twelve, and it wasn’t long until he had taught himself piano and began playing in bands.
“Listening back to the songs, I started to realize a lot of them had lines or hidden messages about how fast time goes by and about trying to find happiness in the short time we have,” said Epperson. “Those thoughts inspired the song Hourglass and the name seemed to be fitting for me at this point in my life. Time goes by so fast and we all get caught up in daily life stresses that take us away from our dreams and the things we care about.”
What a splendid job he did at producing this album. He managed to take the moodiness, confusion, hope, and excitement that come with finding love and happiness and compiles them all into one insightful and thoughtful album.
He’s versatile enough to experiment here and there without losing sight of the overall feeling and flow of the album. Richard’s extensive musical talent definitely shines through on this album, especially on tracks like this one, “Like Always,” which has the right mix of acoustic and electric.
